About the Artist

zijn grew up in the southwest of Germany, where the Black Forest meets the Rhine plain — a landscape that carries a particular quality of silence. That silence became the starting point. zijn, from the Dutch (NDL) for ‘to be’, emerged as an artistic identity — less about genre, more about intention: what does it feel like to simply be in a room with sound?
The sets move along the threshold between motion and stillness — layered textures, unhurried rhythms, the deep bass you feel before you hear it. The tempo drops, attention sharpens. This is music for people who have learned that the most interesting thing often happens when you stop looking for it.
zijn has been part of the electronic underground of the Upper Rhine region for several years — from basement stages to festival meadows across Germany, France, Switzerland and beyond. Each performance is treated as a ritual container: a defined, protected space in which something quiet can happen.
